 Veeam Agent

To get started with Veeam Agent you need to install 2 types of agents in the following way.

• Veeam Management Agent
• Veeam Backup Agent

If you're on-boarding a Mac, the agents are co-located, and you'll only have to install the Veeam Management Agent.

Install Veeam Management Agent

1. You need to be logged into Veeam Service Provider Console.
2. In the Console choose "Managed Computers" in the left pane.
3. In right pane, click on "Discovered Computers".
4. If you are a logged in as a reseller and are managing one or more companies, select required Company.
5. From here choose "Download Agent -> Select your OS -> Click download or create a download link if you need to provide it for a customer to download".
6. When download is finish, you should be left with a file which are the installer for Veeam Management Agent.

Install Veeam Backup Agent for Windows/Linux

1. You need to be logged into Veeam Service Provider Console.
2. In the Console choose "Managed Computers" in the left pane.
3. In right pane, click on "Discovered Computers".
4. Select the computer you've installed a management agent on and click "Install Backup Agent".
5. Now choose a backup policy or create a new, you can choose to install the backup agent without a policy, but you will have to configure Cloud Repository manually in the backup agent.

Veeam Backup and Replication

CloudConnect

1. In the Veeam Console, go to "Backup Infrastructure -> Service Provider".
2. Select "Add Service Provider".
3. Enter DNS name of a cloud gateway of which environment the CloudRepo are created e.g. veeamrepo1.hostedservices.nu with default port of 6180.
4. Do not check the Allow this Veeam Backup & Replication installation to be managed by. the service provider, click next.
5. In the credential section, create or select cloud credential of which are provided along with the CloudRepo Id.
6. Click Next, Apply, Finish.
7. You should now be able to select the cloud repository for a backup job or a backup copy job.
